Yoga Gourmet

Demre – Fethiye: 12-19 May 2012

Forget stuffing a piece of toast in your mouth as you rush out the door for work, sitting in front of your computer and absent mindedly munching a soggy sandwich, coming home opening the fridge door only to close it again in disgust and dial for take away.

In Turkey food is a fundamental aspect of the culture. The country is blessed with an abundance of colourful, seasonal produce that is creatively prepared with an emphasis on freshness and quality. Mealtimes are unhurried affairs, shared with family and friends.

This tour will introduce you to the diversity of Turkish cuisine and remind you to enjoy the simple pleasure of fresh produce lovingly prepared and shared amongst friends.

As we cruise the Mediterranean coast from Demre to Fethiye each meal will be an occasion to savour and for those that like to get creative in the kitchen there will be opportunities to help out with the preparation.

Not forgetting that this is a yoga holiday, the food will be healthy and lite, catering to non-vegetarians and vegetarians alike. The odd treat will be thrown in for good measure ;-)

Hatha yoga classes will be taught twice daily by Christine Mc Nally with the morning session being an uplifting, energising class and the evening session designed to calm and restore mind, body and spirit. All levels are catered for.

As if that’s not enough, this area of the coast is home to some impressive historic sites and beautiful scenery including the sunken city, Kekova, the crusader fortress, Simena, Butterfly Valley, St Nicholas Island and Oludeniz, the blue Lagoon.

Of course there will also be plenty of time for swimming, sleeping, reading or just doing nothing.

Yoga Pampering

Fethiye – Gocek/12 Islands – Fethiye: 8-15 September 2012

Are you someone that tends to put the needs of everyone else ahead of your own? Do you only do something for yourself when you have crossed everything off your never-ending to do list? Do you feel guilty if you spend money and time on a massage?

Looking after yourself is not a frivolous indulgence. It is an expression of your self-worth.

Take some time to remind yourself how great you can feel with a relaxing week cruising the islands of Turkey and learning the exquisite art of self care.

Hatha yoga classes will be held twice daily with the morning session being an uplifting, energising class and the evening session designed to calm and restore mind, body and spirit. All levels are catered for.

Throughout the week we will explore simple ways to nurture mind, body and spirit with the emphasis on feel good pampering.

You will also be encouraged to keep a journal for the week. Suggestions/writing exercises will be provided to get you started.

This trip commences in the gorgeous harbour town of Fethiye and will spend a week meandering in the 12 Islands/Gocek area. Some of the sites will include the ancient Roman baths in Hamam Bay, where Cleopatra is said to have visited, Tasyaka Bay with its rock cut tombs, and Gocek harbour.

An optional excursion to a Turkish hamam can also be arranged.

Of course there will be plenty of time for swimming, sleeping, reading or just doing nothing.
